“A warm welcome to Cape Town” WilkoQ Delft, the Netherlands Nov 14, 2008
When I had a one week conference in Cape Town I booked La Rose B&B because the pictures looked so nice en colourful and it is within easy walking distance from the CTICC conference center. This turned out to be an excellent choice. From the minute I arrived I felt completely at home, maybe because of the late-night pancakes that hit the spot after a long flight. The hosts are very helpful and know everything about the colourful Bo'Kaap district: You don't have to go far for good food or entertainment. I'll definitely be back to this wonderful place and bring my family
“Another fan of La Rose!” , Rolinah , Bukavu, Democratic Republic of the CongoNov 11, 2008
Wow. What a place. From the moment I arrived at an unappealing hour late in the evening, to the moment I had to reluctantly leave nearly a week later, I couldn't have felt more welcome and at home in this gorgeous place. My hosts were both informative about Cape Town, but also wonderful company (and provide a fabulous breakfast!). La Rose is a beautiful B&B in a quiet and attractive area, but still walking distance both to town and the Waterfront. It's been decorated with taste and love, with even more ideas in the works for improvements and expansion. It's the sort of place that at the end of the day, when I returned there, I thought of it as "going home". I can't wait to go back!
“Home away from home” MomfromOgden Ogden, UtahOct 11, 2008
We really enjoyed our experience at La Rose. It was so much more personal than a hotel, and we were lucky to be able to share their home with other international guests. Owners Yoann (from France) and his wife Adheera (from South Africa) were eager to suggest what to see and do in the area to make our stay more enjoyable. Each morning Yoann made us breakfast to order using herbs from his garden, and their darling 1 year old daughter Lea joined us. On Sunday pm, Yoann makes French crepes for friends and guests, so try to be sure and be there on a Sunday. Using their laptop, in the comfort of our room, we were able to contact our family back in the US. Yoann and Adheera treated us more like friends visiting than just paying guests. Our stay was so enjoyable, we invited them to stay in our home if they come to Utah in the USA. We would highly recommend a stay in La Rose in the historic Bo-Kaap section of Capetown, which is in a convenient location for both exploring on foot, or using a rental car.
